Meat Standards Australia

What is Meat Standards Australia?

Meat Standards Australia (MSA) is a red meat quality program designed to inform consumers on purchasing and cooking Australian red meat.

It is the largest such consumer researched grading system in the world.

Many factors can impact the quality, taste and tenderness of beef products.

These include livestock management practices, processing systems, cuts, ageing periods and cooking methods.

MSA test each of these factors to determine the impact on the end product.

The result is a score that relates to eating quality – the MSA Grading. This grading is applied to each and every cut of beef.

All MSA graded beef is labelled with an eating quality grade and recommended cooking method to remove the guesswork in buying beef for consumers.

The MSA Grading system offers complete DNA product traceability from paddock to plate.

Taste the Lee Pratt difference

Lee Pratt Beef is proud to be one of the first beef processors in Australia to adopt MSA Grading.

Being an MSA brand means that all Lee Pratt Beef is certified via an approved Quality Management System in accordance with the MSA Standards Manual.

Lee Pratt Beef works only with MSA producers. Our beef is transported and held in accordance with MSA standards.

Our beef is processed at the Northern Co-operative Meat Company Casino which is a MSA licensed facility.

All Lee Pratt Beef produced in this way can be branded with the MSA Trademark – your guarantee of quality, tender Australian beef.
